Children's Garden Club

Does your child love to play in the soil or have an interest in gardening? Then this amazing program is meant for you! With the collaboration of the Dirt Diva, Sullivan and Wayne County Master Gardener Programs, Sullivan Renaissance and the Tusten Heritage Community Garden; WSPL has expanded its programing to offer a children's garden club. This structured program, closely follows the Junior Master Gardeners Curriculum to help students learn all about gardening in a series of eight classes. We'll start our time indoors, studying the science behind how things work and then head outdoors to dig into the soil! Each class will be taught independently so that you can attend whichever classes interest you, however if you sign up for all eight classes you’ll receive your own handbook and become a certified Junior Master Gardener!

All classes will be at the Tusten - Cocehcton Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library from 10:30 - 11:30 am. We’ll hold class on Saturday April 6th, May 4th and June 22nd and Tuesday July 9th, 16, 23rd, 30th and August 6th. Registration is required, classes are intended for children ages 7-11. We'll create a calendar to decipher when to sow which kind of seed, sow seeds for indoor growing in various containers and learn how to set up a grow station with grow lights.
