Antique Photo Restoration

Come learn the secrets of antique photo restoration with Chip Forelli! Chip will be demonstrating the Adobe Photoshop techniques he uses to restore vintage and damaged photographs during two classes at the Western Sullivan Public Library. Participants will also have the option of having one of their own photos digitally scanned into high-resolution digital files by Chip’s high-end Imacon scanner to save for future use. Patrons are encouraged to bring their own USB storage drives to store these scans, and there is a limit of one scan per participant. The class will be held at the Jeffersonville Branch on Tuesday, March 12th from 5:30-7:30pm, and at the Delaware Free Branch in Callicoon on Tuesday, March 19th from 5:30-7:30pm. Programs with less than 5 people pre-registered may be cancelled.  To register visit the library online at WSPLonline.org. For more information visit our website or call (845) 482-4350 (Jeffersonville), or (845) 887-4040 (Callicoon).

The Public Computer Center also has two programs that recur every month; Jeffersonville Robot Club and Open Technology Support. Open Technology Support is a time for patrons to bring their various devices into the library to get one-on-one support from Abram VanHassel, the library’s Multimedia Technician. Open Support Hours are on Mondays at the Delaware Free Branch in Callicoon from 1-4pm, Wednesdays at the Tusten-Cochecton Branch in Narrowsburg from 4-7pm, and Fridays at the Jeffersonville Branch in Jeffersonville from 10am-1pm. There is no registration process for Open Technology Support and patrons are helped in the order they arrive.

The Jeffersonville Robot Club is a monthly gathering for older children and teens, ages 8 and up. On the last Tuesday of every month at 4:30pm, the Robot Club meets at the Jeffersonville Branch of the Western Sullivan Public Library to assemble various robotic kits, provided by the library. These kits teach the children valuable aspects of STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math). This month’s project is a solar-powered land or water cruiser, with 14 different configuration possibilities! Since the library supplies the robotics kits for the students, registration is limited to only 10 students each month and the registration is first come, first served. Patrons can register online at wsplonline.org or by calling the Jeffersonville Branch at (845) 482-4350.
